Drinkme® is a whole food smoothie rather than a juice, which means that if it’s edible, it’s in your drink. Excellent plant nutrition lives in peels, pulp and stems. Why would anyone throw this away? Drinkme® makes the most of nature, and uses every bit of fruit and vegetable possible to give you the highest quality ingredients. This means kale stems, beet peels, apple seeds and ginger skins remain in our products. You can taste them.
Drinkme® Kale is the darkest of the leafy greens, rich in both vitamins and minerals. It is also a Superfood because it is packed with high nutrition, fiber, and antioxidants to help your body.
Kale is a form of cabbage, and is grown in the ground. Sometimes kale can absorb heavy metals from the earth, such as a chemical element known as cadmium. Our products have been tested for purity and do not contain any heavy metals. Ordinarily, the nutritional data on kale does not include the ribs and stems.
Drinkme® is COLD BLENDED, which is our own term to describe our unique blending process. We know that blending can generate heat, but we control our production temperature and ensure this doesn’t happen. We also make small batches. Pressure can create heat, yes, but we have implemented a water cooling system to ensure the product never goes above 50 degrees.
Drinkme® never touches heat, but it can be frozen for up to 12 months before the vitamins start to break down. Once thawed they can be kept in the fridge for about 30 days. Did you know Drinkme® was previously a frozen product? This means that when the products are frozen, they push air out, which means so they will look dented when the bottles are thawed.
It is a new bottling method called HPP, or High Pressure Processing. Instead of being heat treated, they put in thousands of pounds of water pressure to kill off the bacteria which actually gives it a longer shelf life. No heat means it doesn’t cook the product.
Drinkme® was designed as a cleaning and maintenance product to satisfy a daily intake of green leafy vegetables. According to research on Wild Chimpanzees’ diet, an average human would need to consume 2 heads of greens per day. We share 99.4% DNA with the Chimp, yet our Standard American Diet is the polar opposite. Chimps maintain 80% fruits and vegetables. But it’s not that simple, because humans do not naturally produce cellulase, the enzyme that breaks down greens. So Drinkme® breaks open the plant cell walls, grinds all the nutrition inside, and keeps it in the bottle, in the simplest form possible. Blending is ‘pre digesting’ so absorption starts as soon as you drink them.
High Pressure Processing is an exciting technology that uses extreme pressure to preserve food products. It has been in the food application for many years in the USA, Europe, Australia, and Asia. It is effective in removing all pathogens except mold – that is why the food products must be kept in the fridge. HPP is the most effective method of preserving food. In terms of our beverages, it is the last step in manufacturing. The beverages are bottled, and then the sealed bottles get placed into a water bath pressure chamber. This cycle goes under a set time and pressure and once removed will be ready to drink within 24 hours.
